Hi. I'm Nikita.

A UX Designer with a self-taught background in coding and a professional background in criminal justice/law enforcement.
Why the career change?
Thanks for asking! I wanted to be a part of a forward-thinking, forward-moving field. This drew me to Tech.
After over a decade of working in criminal justice, there weren't many opportunities for me to continue to grow and be challenged.

Why UX?
Another great question! When I was 13 (so, so long ago), I taught myself how to code. I started making websites as a hobby. And so I initially leaned towards web development. But what pulled me towards UX Design was the human element.

With a criminal justice background, understanding how humans behave and react, and solving problems through an empathetic lens resonates with me.

UX Design is more that just designing for a screen. It is more than pretty visual design.
It is about helping to improve people's lives.
